The challenge
RSA is the one week a year when every security professional in the world is in the same place. Amplify wanted in, and not with another booth. They planned a poker night with cigars and whiskey, the kind of event their audience actually wants to attend.
The catch: the idea landed two weeks before RSA. Reaching senior security leaders cold, on that timeline, had historically been a wall.
What they did with Selix
Ali opened Slack and chatted with Selix. He described the event and the kind of person he wanted in the room. Selix came back with a prospect list, built the campaign, and pinged him when it was ready to launch.
Total hands-on time: about two minutes.
"I chatted with Selix in Slack and said, we have this event, and it came up with a list of prospects. It let me know that the campaign is ready to launch."
The outcome
The RSA poker night campaign went out in time. More importantly, Amplify now has a repeatable motion for the kind of high-touch, audience-specific outreach that used to be impossible on short notice.
"Now we know we have this agent that can just go do things for us when we need it. It's going to be proactive. It's going to learn from our direction."
What's next
Amplify is using Selix beyond one-off events:
- Booking guests for their podcast
- Running city-by-city events for security leaders
- Targeted outreach to fit-the-profile prospects whenever a new opportunity comes up
"We can have an event and have Selix go out and reach out to relevant people that fit who I'm looking for. We can start booking people for our podcast, going to different cities and getting security leaders to attend our event."
